About Astrid Fleming

Astrid is a quirky, fabulous, fun chick (she’s also an award winning writer and published novelist).

Her first novel White Knights was published in November 2008, reprinted in March 2009 and is about to be reprinted again.

In 2004, Astrid was one of three South African prose writers awarded the British Council’s Crossing Borders Writing Scholarship. In the same year, she was a finalist in the Fair Lady Short Story Competition, chosen from 1300 entrants.

Astrid is currently writing her second novel. A fabulous, fast, slick, multi-dimensional, modern novel set in that jet set world between Johannesburg, London & New York where everything – power, influence, money, morals, social standing – is not quite as it seems.

She describes herself as a black suits and stilettos chick, who adores jeans, white t-shirts, hats and anything vintage. Her great passions are people, words and storytelling. She’s worked in investment banking, management consulting and media. She’s built thee start-ups. She’s lived in London, New York, Johannesburg and Cape Town. She’s travelled in 27 countries, crossed the Namib Desert on horseback and is an Ashtanga yoga teacher. White Knights is her first novel.
